My Client, a Central Government Organisation, is looking for VM Ware & Microsoft Technician.
You will be responsible for:
• Working with the Infrastructure Detailed Design and Build Team to assess migration requirements on applications that are to be moved into the Single Managed Network Virtual Infrastructure.
• Work with the Infrastructure Detailed Design and Build Team, to build the infrastructure to carry out the assessment (Dev Environment) and carry out the migration (Live Environment)
• Implementing changes so that there are no unplanned outages and that planned outages are controlled appropriately.
• Carrying out system tests to confirm resilience.
• Good communication skills for both oral and written communication and documentation.
Required Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
• MCSE in Windows 2000 or 2003
• Experience in Virtual Infrastructure 3 (ESX 3.5, Virtual Center 2.5).
• Ability to produce system documentation and undertake design work.
• Proficient in the use of HP Proliant server hardware.
• Experience of using Exchange 2000/2003.
• Excellent communication skills for both oral and written communication and documentation.
• Recent experience of working in an ICT support environment.
• Good Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable
• Experience in Virtual Infrastructure ESX 3.5, Virtual Center 2.5
• VMWare VCP Certification
• Experience of VDI or Citrix
• Experience of Windows 2008
• SAN \ HP Storage Works experience
• Experience of working as part of a Server migration and upgrade programme.
• Awareness of HP Integrity Integrated Lights Out (iLO) management
• ITIL Service Management Foundation Certificate
• Experience of using the Helpdesk Tool Assyst
• Certified competence in Manual Handling techniques
• Provision of appropriate PPE necessary for some of the work.
