We are in the midst of delivering the software for the next generation of Visual IP cores; as a Test Engineer (SQA), you will be undertaking the test execution with team members, developing test case procedures and maintaining test documentation and results.
Qualifications
A good degree in Electronics, Computer Science or a related discipline OR 1-2 years relevant industry experience. Proven track record of 1-2 years in shipping high quality software in the embedded domain with a background in 2D/3D graphics preferred.
This role demands a strong testing background, a work style that reflects foresight, analysis and logic, systematic and orderly planning and attention to detail. Also an ability to work alone, reliably and responsibly, exercise engineering judgment on the testing issues in a project and have excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus. Provide detailed status reports on test execution, lab/machine issues, and configurations related to driver releases. Build various software artefacts requiring advance to expert CLUE (Command Line User experience) on Linux/Windows/Symbian.
Make suggestions for test and lab procedure improvements. Install and upgrade software based on a clear set of instructions. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems as required. Test and verify hardware and support peripherals to ensure their readiness for test execution and be responsible for control of test configuration and environment. Execute automated or manual tests as per specifications, record test data and analyse the test results. Undertake defect reporting and coordinating with development teams upon test failure. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of testing issues within a project. Move/lift hardware. Be well organized, detail oriented, and articulate in oral and written communication. Complete the objectives of each release within the agreed timeframe.
Skills
Excellent communication skills and cross team collaboration experience/skill are a must.
Detailed knowledge of PC hardware architecture.
Excellent logical analysis and problem solving skills.
Must be a hands-on self-starter and have an eye to suggesting improvements.
Self-driven with a strong customer focus.
Strong testing background including test case design.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Microsoft Project.
Coding and debugging experience in a high level language, proficiency in C would be an advantage.
Programming knowledge of any of the 2D/3D graphics APIs (OpenGL, OpenGL ES, OVG, D3DM/DirectX) would be an advantage.
