Summary of the role
The IT Test Assurance Group (TAG) is seeking to expand and requires a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced team leader to manage and take ownership of the TAG. The purpose of the role is to manage the TAG team, operate as a testing specialist at all levels, provide direction and consultancy, maintain the provision of testing services and strive to continually improve.
Key accountabilities
• Operate as a specialist and provide consultancy on all aspects of software testing
• Advise on the most appropriate test processes, tools and techniques for any given situation and make clear justifications for those choices
• Input to company programme direction
• Determine and implement effective improvements to the test process
• Effective management of the testing services in scope
• Effectively introduce and manage change
• Provision of a managed test facility
• Provision of an assurance service
• Maintain and report on management controls that indicate cost, effort and progress
• Analyse and mitigate the risks of failing to meet customer needs and proactively identify future customer requirements
• Liaise with senior members of the organisation to promote the role of testing and increase awareness
• Produce clear, concise and unambiguous documents in accordance with company standards
• Plan and organise multiple cross organisation test activities, and deal with conflicting priorities
• Make financial and manpower decisions within budget constraints
• Constantly consider ways to improve efficiency and minimise costs
