My client is a specialist in real-time video tracking and image processing sub-systems in the defence industry and they require a Software Team Leader to Manage, Facilitate and coordinate software development activities. Also to ensure that the software team maintains its capability at the leading edge of technology.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Define team objectives and monitor results
· Coordinate development in conjunction with other technical disciplines
· Support the personal development of team members
· Allocation of resources to project teams
· Team supervision including work scheduling and monitoring
· Ownership of process related to function
· Provide leadership of process improvement
· Deciding tactical priorities in consultation with product and project managers
Qualifications/Requirements
· Possess a degree in a relevant engineering discipline
· Experience of real-time embedded software development
· C and C++ experience
· VxWorks and Workbench beneficial
· Experience in image processing and/or electro optics systems
· Experience in the defence and aerospace sector would be an advantage
· Have a vision for software design
· Strong people management skills
· Be proactive and able to work on own initiative
· Be customer focused
