This is a rare chance for a Software Engineer with a proven track-record of real-time system software development to work with some of the most advanced technology in the world, in a constantly-changing modern arena.
This is why we : and you : only use the very latest technology. And it`s why your role, as part of our Simulator Asset Engineering department, will prove so fascinating. Essentially, it`ll be your job to ensure that we continually develop groundbreaking software for the simulators.
That will give you a great deal of variety. You could be looking at how to increase the amount of traffic any one air traffic controller can monitor. You could be working to improve safety or efficiency. Equally, you could be thinking of innovative solutions: Exploring the potential of voice recognition technologies and controller tools based on sophisticated algorithms.
Day to day, you`ll be responsible for producing or providing input to technical requirement specifications; designing solutions at a software component level, writing code to implement the software components; and performing tests on the units.
So, as well as experience of real-time system software development, you will need a broad range of skills : covering C++/STL, and development frameworks such as X/Motif, Sun Studio and/or Microsoft .NET : Chartered Engineer status (or progress towards it) and a degree in a computer-related, engineering or numerate subject (or equivalent as defined by a chartered professional body such as the BCS or IET).
