SENIOR STRUCTURES DESIGN ENGINEER / HERTFORDSHIRE / £NEG
* Great opportunity for a Senior Structures Design Engineer with the following attributes:
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or demonstrated relevant experience
- Aerospace structural design process experience
- Related experience in an aerospace structures design role
- Exp of Composites & Aerospace or lightweight engineering
- Working knowledge of aerospace structures design techniques & methods
- Understanding of static & dynamic behaviour of structures
- Appreciation of launch vehicles & the launch environment
- Good communication skills & understanding of the English language
ROLE:
The Senior Structures Design Engineer will:
* Ensure all structure specification & statement of work requirements are met for a complex spacecraft structure
* Plan all design activities to ensure schedule & cost are met & long lead items are ordered
* Supervise & provide on the job training to other Structures Engineers working on the same concurrent engineering team
* Engineering definition of spacecraft structure component design that is cost efficient & complies with all requirements. This definition will be given to Designers to produce engineering drawings
* Write structures design documentation for customer reviews & provide all subsidiary information, which demonstrates, that all requirements are met
* Present/justify designs & their development at customer reviews
* Basic structure sizing calculations, produce mass calculations & exercise mass control
* Manufacturing dimensional tolerance studies & use a PC as a working tool |
