My client has a vacancy for a Senior Software Engineer - DBMS Specialist.
Aims of the Job Holder
You will be responsible for the design and the implementation of DBMS technology in the product range. It is not expected that this position will be filled by a DBA, but rather an individual who understands how a DBMS functions in depth due to the nature of the requirements placed upon the DBMS by the products.
To provide support for the existing use of DBMS technology in our products while also being responsible for the design and development strategies used in the future use of DBMS technology in our product range.
Duties and Responsibilities
To be the centre of excellence for the use of DBMS technology in the product range.
The position will discuss and agree design and development strategies with senior technical leads within the department.
Perform mentoring duties to junior members of staff as requested from time to time by your manager.
Contribute towards the maintenance and improvement of the Research and Development department processes and standards.
Compliance to standards (coding, testing and quality).
Contribution to product documentation.
Undertake other projects assigned to you from time to time by your manager.
