SENIOR SMPS ENGINEER - POWER ELECTRONICS
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE / c£36K-£42K + BONUS
In this critical position you will working within a flexible design environment, initially responsible for the new design, development & qualification of Power Electronics Products. Key criteria include:
* Design/develop power electronics for power conversion & power quality applications. Meet specification requirements for these designs & demonstrate this by design analysis reports & records. Meet cost, size, & weight goals of products
* Understand interfaces between circuitry & external system & between analogue & digital circuitry & collaborate with Mechanical & System Design Groups to produce effective overall designs for Power Electronics
* Identify/perform analysis & testing to verify & demonstrate correct circuit performance, including Worst-Case analysis, RSS, Monte Carlo, steady-state & transient thermal etc
We are keen to hear from POWER ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS with skills as follows:
- High level of expertise in power electronic design requirements capture, design & systems/product integration
- Practical experience commensurate with Senior Specialist position in power electronics
- Electronics design exp for harsh environments (extreme temperatures, vibration levels)
- Exp designing products (not only test equipment) for Aerospace or Automotive industry in Power Electronics
- Exp of power circuit topologies & their design
Exp of some or all of the following beneficial:
* Power devices - IGBTs, MOSFETs, Bipolar transistors
* Power circuit design & development up to 500 Amps
* Magnetic circuit design - transformers, inductors
* Motor control
* Analogue circuit design
* FPGA design & interface electronics
* Circuit simulation - SABER, SPICE
* Hardware build & test
* Thermal design & modelling
* Converter/Inverter design topologies
