Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and competent Senior Consultant to join our growing team of Safety experts working in the Defence, Aerospace, Airport and Air Traffic Management domains.
In addition understanding of civil and military Airworthiness would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be required to both work independently and manage a team conducting Safety Analysis, developing safety arguments for novel and complex systems and be able to clearly and concisely justify that argument to both internal and external customers.
The role is both technically and commercially challenging and the successful candidate will be expected to be able to work under their own guidance and interact with customers at a high level.
The successful candidate will be expected to be heavily involved in generating new work and hence bid preparation, presentation skills and an understanding of commercial issues is required.
Candidates will need:
To be degree or equivalent qualified in an Engineering/Technical Discipline or have equivalent engineering exposure.
To have a good Engineering background and awareness of Defence, Aerospace, Air Traffic or other relevant safety related sectors.
Successful candidates will:
Develop innovative solutions to customer problems drawing on best practice from the many domains of the company and beyond.
Undertake internal Project Manager role on major projects with responsibilities for understanding customer requirements, developing proposals (technical & commercial), planning & management of activities and assurance of the outputs.
Build sustainable relationships with customers in an account management role, seeking out future business opportunities and managing these through to new work.
Shall have good written and verbal communication skills and be preparing and presenting safety reports and presentations to both internal and external customers.

Knowledge of the following is expected:
Safety Legislation and Standards.
Hazard Identification techniques such as HAZOPS, SWIFT, Functional Failure Analysis, etc.
Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment techniques.
Managing Safety programmes and implementing Safety Management Systems
The creation and maintenance of Safety Cases and Safety Case Reports, detailing the safety activities conducted, the level of Risk attained and justifying the ALARP-type arguments developed.
Desirable Requirements for the role:
Working knowledge developing and delivering Safety Policy/ Procedures both internally and to external customers.
Working knowledge in the application of Human Factors techniques to safety assessments.
Independent Safety Auditing and Advising with accreditation to ISO 9000, OHSAS 18001 or similar.
