SAFETY CASE LEAD / PRINCIPAL NUCLEAR CONSULTANT

* Accomplished Principal Nuclear Consultant sought to join a multinational engineering & design consultancy to fulfil the role of Safety Case Lead. Whilst based in Surrey or Berkshire, the majority of your work undertaken at clients premises
* Great opportunity to work on an exciting project, delivering the design of complex high hazard facilities on Nuclear Licensed Sites
* We are keen to hear from applicants with an in-depth understanding of integrating safety with design
* You will lead the design justification process & advise the Design Team Leader & Design Discipline Leads on nuclear safety-related matters during optioneering & design development
* Also support the SQEP development & management of the design team through relevant training/mentoring
Other key attributes include:
- Suitable scientific / engineering degree (or equiv)
- Extensive exp delivering nuclear safety cases & provision of nuclear safety advice
- Exp providing nuclear safety justifications incl quantitative hazard assessments in support of nuclear plant, particularly reactor plant or exp in design substantiation/engineering substantiation in nuclear or other high hazard industry
- Sound understanding of nuclear regulatory requirements & requirements of a modern standards safety case
- Knowledge/understanding of nuclear safety legislation including site licensing requirements |
