Location: Near Uxbridge, Middlesex


Our client, the world's longest established and most experienced manufacturer of ejection seats, is looking to appoint an R&M Engineer to their staff at Higher Denham, Near Uxbridge.

Operating within the Design Support department and reporting directly to the Product Support Manager the R&M Engineer will charged with improving the reliability of design through liaison and quantitive assessment.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline the success candidate will have proven experience of similar activity associated with aerospace or the vehicular industry as well as practical engineering aptitude and judgement capabilities in the examination of engineering articles.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

•Carry out assessments of Reliability using an analytical approach. Consideration of the operational behaviour of components and systems and the development of a diagrammatic model representation of reliability consequences.
•The development of a failure mode effects and criticality analysis (F.M.E.C.A.).
•Fault Tree Analysis
•Creation of reliability test plans
•Single Point failure assessments
•Data acquisition, management and maintenance of computer databases of systems, subsystems and components.
•Carry out Marginality of Success (MOS) examinations and investigations of abnormal
events.
•Record abnormal test result events and operate a monitoring, information and corrective action system (FRACAS).
•Attend design system effectiveness reviews and contribute on reliability aspects.
•Maintain and operate a data upgrading plan to ensure the growth of reliability for given products.
•Carry out Hazard Analysis, Safety Assessments and explosive overview.
•Approve drawing change notices.
•Produce comprehensive documentation and reports on reliability predictions safety and associated analytical work detailed above. Additionally, produce periodic summary and status reports relating to such topics as required by the department and customers.
•Presentation of any of the above work or design review material may be required to both company personnel, up to director level, and to customers.
•When required practical hands on application will be necessary to carry out investigation of defective components.
•Will represent the company at home and overseas in connection with duties above as required.

Salary: c£30,000 (depending on experience) plus:
•Holidays - 25 days per year
•Early finish on a Friday
•Pension (after one years service)
•Life Assurance
•Subsidised canteen
