Project Manager for this defence communications company based in Middlesex/West London.
The position entails managing the customer's project within agreed guidelines and timescales including the planning, coordinating, tracking and monitoring of all aspects of the project from development, production to delivery and acting as a central point of contact for all matters. The project manager shall ensure that the project scope and deliveries are defined unambiguously from the outset, resources are committed and potential risks are transparent to project owners and stakeholders.
The candidate will: Manage key crypto programmes ensuring the solution meets the customer's technical specifications/requirements, within time and budget and to the required recognised standards. Support technical consultants and marketing personnel, where appropriate. Maintain the existing strong relationship with the DCA, CESG, other key stakeholders and key partnering agreements with sub-contractors. An excellent communicator who will be able to convey the progress of the project to all parties' concerned, be comfortable dealing with all levels of people from senior executives to shop floor production staff and be able to relate to engineering and project management issues as a key part of the role.
Knowledge and skills required:
Competent in the following disciplines: Have project management experience using a variety of project management methodologies enabling: Project initiation * Project planning * Cost estimation and bidding including preparation of technical proposals * Execution and control of a project * Risk detection and the provision of suitable mitigation plans, escalating where appropriate providing management strategies in order to minimise the impact to project delivery * Quality Control and Configuration Management.
Using project tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Pertmaster, EVM or equivalent. A thorough understanding of Information Assurance, cryptographic equipment and the security accreditation process including a sound knowledge of the following is a major plus, in particular: Current government policy and guidance relating to crypto, Cryptographic systems evaluation and Cryptographic equipment.
The Project Manager must hold a current and full UK drivers licence and be flexible in terms of working hours and location of work and willing to travel to worldwide locations at short notice. You will be eligible for current SC Clearance.
