Project Manager/Engineer
Required by this leader in the Defence market. The Project Manager role is to provide leadership and direction for the Sea Signature Ranges, projects portfolio and with experience held of internal and external recruitment, build, support, train and develop a multi-site team.
The role will be based in Hampshire and is commutable from Guildford, Basingstoke, Camberley & Haselmere.
Knowledge and Skills
Use of effective stakeholder management to develop good working relations with suppliers (internal and external). Appreciation of complex high technology systems, their components and processes associated with their execution. Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to decompose complex issues, to an appropriate level of detail, in a methodical manner. Able to drive project to successful outcome/overcome obstacles whilst under minimal supervision. Co-ordinate the production of a resourced project plan, with which to manage the project. Experienced in monitoring and control of complex, multi-team, firm price contracts (knowledge and experience of earned value techniques advantageous). Track record of successful delivery of work packages to defined cost, timescale and budget. Capable of acting as effective team member at all levels. Present a professional attitude to internal and external customers. Provide open and honest project reporting. Enthusiastic with good written and verbal communication skills. Keen to maintain and develop current body of knowledge in Project Management discipline. First hand experience of procurement and tendering processes (preferably involving the production of specifications, definition of supplier selection criteria and contracting). Knowledgeable in risk management processes and experience of implementing mitigation strategies. Experience of all lifecycle phases: concept, definition, implementation, handover and close out, operation and termination.
ESSENTIAL Qualifications
Numeric degree or relevant qualification. Domain experience in Military, specifically Naval projects. Recognised Project Management qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
Keen to maintain and develop current body of knowledge in Project Management discipline. Background in Electrical Engineering (advantageous).
