My client is a world leading engineering consultancy who require a Project Engineer to be based from their offices in either Derby or Cheshire. Supporting the Project Managers the Project Engineer will be responsible for the procurement of mechanical hardware (valves, pumps, pipe work, etc.) in support of current class submarines and new build submarines. Working with the customer the Project Engineer receives a request for hardware and then ensures that design engineers, buyers and other procurement professionals process the request to through the process to delivering the piece of hardware to the client.
The successful Project Engineer should be a Member of the Association for Project Management. Member of the IMechE or similar. Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or similar; or equivalent industry experience ideally you should have previous defence related experience ie BAE or the MoD etc and any previous submarine or NSRP would be beneficial.
