Principal Power Engineer
(circa £60,000 dependent on knowledge, skills and expertise)
Role outline:
To work with Projects to develop outline power system designs and scope and to manage the configuration of the power systems.
You will be responsible for establishing strategies and technical requirements for the Power discipline, work with LU and MR projects for development of technical strategy, and act as senior power engineering representative for our client when placed on our client's projects or within other TfL organisations. As well as plan and control work to meet project and technical requirements, deliver outline designs and whole life cost solutions for LVAC power systems and DC traction power systems. You will also be responsible for ensuring safety and quality requirements are met for all power projects, manage technology changes for power system components which benefit the company. and relationships LU, EDF TL and other LU 3rd third parties
You will be a Chartered Engineer with extensive expertise of power systems engineering preferably in a rail environment, with expertise of HV & LVAC distribution systems design, of DC Traction systems design, of managing engineers and projects, knowledge of interfaces between power, railway signalling and rolling stock, and be ideally CEng with a BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
