Introduction:
Our client is a world renowned shipbuilding company serving the defense industry including the Royal Navy.
As a time served tradesman or equivalent, you will be involved in the construction of new surface ships for the Royal Navy, based within the Mechanical Engineering department.
Responsibilities:
- You will fit pipe systems, associated equipment and then become involved in the test and commissioning of those systems.
- You will also be involved with the manufacture of pipes in the pipe shop for installation at ship.
- Fabricating and installing small bore pipe work runs at ship that are not pre made in the shop.
Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate will be able to;
- Read Isometric Drawings
- Draw 3D View
- Braze both Silver and Soft Solder
- Use Welding equipment (TIG & MMA)
- Lift templates at Ship
- Use Hand Benders
- Cut Pipe Threads
- Install Pipework
- Test Pipe Systems
- Although not essential, Marine experience is advantageous.
