Our Nuclear business is a leading independent supplier of engineering and specialist services to the Nuclear industry. Opportunities exist for Nuclear Safety Case Engineers to join our Nuclear Generation team based in North Bristol. Senior Safety Case EngineersYour experience of leading complex nuclear safety cases will be combined with a flair for developing staff and a determination for deliverying within a commercial environment. You are now looking for a new challenge, one where you are responsible for leading technical delivery, staff development and business growth. Safety Case EngineersYou will have been working within safety case teams for a number of years and are likely to be Chartered in an engineering discipline. Your experience to date will have given you a solid foundation in safety case development and you will now be looking for an opportunity to expand your skills and breadth of responsibility and for the challenge of working in a consultancy environment where you will be involved in both winning work and managing its successful delivery.
Role and Responsibilities
As part of our team focusing on nuclear power generation, you'll assess the safety of processes with nuclear power stations. This will call upon all your experience in nuclear power plant operation, reactor physics or radiological protection, as well as your engineering degree. Nuclear Safety Engineers are responsible for providing project support and participating in the production of nuclear safety documentation including undertaking: - Hazard/fault identification studies e.g. HAZOP, FMEA
- Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard assessments
- Accident sequence modeling assessments, safety management studies
- The provision of support to Engineering Substantiation studies
- Safety Case preparation
The roles will also involve providing support to proposal preparation for nuclear related projects.
Requirements
Senior Safety Case Engineers: - Chartered Engineer
- A high level of relevant industrial experience in a senior role
- Experience of supervising teams of professional staff
- Proven capability of winning and delivering engineering projects
- The capability to develop a team of engineers in the Atkins' Bristol office
- A good track record in client management and business development
Safety Case Engineers: - Suitable degree in mechanical engineering
- A reasonable level of relevant industrial experience since graduation
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status
