MOTORS & DRIVES TECHNOLOGIST / WEST SUSSEX / £35K-£42K
* Great opportunity to join a leading supplier of equipment & services to the world's most advanced industries. In this challenging role for a Motors & Drives Technologist, you will specify, develop & qualify motor & drive solutions
* We are keen to receive applications from technologists with a thorough understanding of:
- Motor technologies, particularly induction & permanent magnet machines, their fundamental operating principles/limitations
- Inverter technology / motor control principles
- Product Development in a multi-disciplined team
Desirable skills include include:
- Motor manufacturing technology/processes
- Electronics/embedded software control
- High precision dynamometry/loss segregation
- Use of FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) to identify & control technical risk in product development

* Motor & drive technology choice/specification, derived through functional analysis
* Work with strategic suppliers (internal/external) & Commodity Management to design motors & drives to meet specifications, cost targets & project timescales
* Motor & drive development / validation using dynamometer & in-pump testing
* Specialist technical advice/guidance to Operations, Field Service & Technical Support functions & contribute to defining company strategy in this key area |
