Introduction:
Our client immediately requires a Mechanical Fitter (Marine) who will be responsible for undertaking a range of repair and maintenance tasks on a variety of Royal Navy and Commercial vessels.
Due to the nature of this role it would suit Mechanical Fitters with a Royal Navy background, although those with similar commercial experience are also encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be joining a very large company who are leaders in providing engineering services to the MOD and commercial marine sectors.
Applicant Requirements:
- Served and successfully completed a recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship and a relevant trade qualification e.g. City & Guilds, ONC, HNC.
- You will have experience of maintenance of the following systems on Royal Naval or Commercial Vessels which are; Propulsion, Gearboxes, Diesels, Gas Turbines, Pumps and High Pressure Compressed Air.
- You must be self-motivated, reliable and able to demonstrate good time keeping.
- This work is physically demanding and you will need to be a team player to ensure project deadlines are met.
Benefits:
- The basic salary is £20,966 with overtime premiums paid after 37 hours, as well as an uplift on shift work.
