MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER / WORCESTERSHIRE / £28K-£35K
* Excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial & dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer used to working in a fast-moving environment
* Critical role providing concept, scheme & embodiment design of instrumentation mechanics, from initial requirements through to low/medium volume manufacture
* This challenging position offers project management potential & involves balancing potentially conflicting requirements e.g engineering for value, quality, reliability, assembly, test & service
* Of special interest to those with a background in particle characterisation
* We are keen to hear from accomplished Mechanical Design Engineers with talents including
- Hands-on, experimental approach - innovative; able to create/develop new ideas
- Driving designs through from idea to completion
- Commercially aware; understand the need for short time to market
- Able to work effectively to project timescales
- Used to working effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Balance requirements for value engineering, assembly, test, service, time to market
- Good communication; able to work with external development groups
- Grad with relevant exp/equiv
- High-technology background; Innovative, experimental approach
- Design of concept, scheme of a complete instrument or a major subsystem
- Exp of precision mechanisms, fluid handling or optics
- Wide materials expertise in metals, plastics
- 3D CAD
- Design for test/reliability
- DFM/FMEA
- Delivery to tight project timescales
