LEAD FATIGUE & DAMAGE TOLERANCE ENGINEER / AVON / £25K-£35K
SKILLS SOUGHT:
- Able to lead a team of engineers
- Strong experience working as an engineer, preferably in the aircraft industry, involved in fatigue & crack growth analysis of metallic structures using a broad range of standard hand/computer methods
- Understanding of fundamental method of analysis for fatigue & crack growth & ability to develop these methods
- Able to assess structural analysis problems
- Some knowledge of the application of FE analysis & understanding of aircraft production methods/processes beneficial
- Experience of PC & mainframe computer systems
- Team player with high regard for internal/external customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle
ROLE:
* Liaise with Static Stress, Design & appropriate European departments to devise optimum design solutions for airline customers & define maintenance programs
* Fatigue, crack growth & residual strength calculations to assess design solutions using standard hand/computer methods
* Liaise with Methods & Data group to ensure methods, assumptions, data & procedures reflect on-going developments |
