Introduction:
Our client is a leading provider in environmental services and now has an immediate requirement for an Environmental Lecturer in Wakefield.
The role will include the design and delivery of educational sessions to encourage people of all ages to understand, appreciate and engage in Waste Management.
The position of Environmental Lecturer presents itself as an excellent opportunity to be directly involved in developing a comprehensive package in the delivery of waste management education to people of all ages.
Responsibilities:
- To design and deliver educational sessions to encourage people of all ages to understand, appreciate and engage in Waste Management.
- To design a number of educational sessions of various lengths and for different types of audience, to ensure attendees understand, appreciate and engage in waste management.
- To deliver educational sessions, with necessary supporting documentation and answer any questions that are raised to build enthusiasm for waste management.
- To accompany tours around the site, clearly explaining what each process involves and ensuring the health and safety of attendees.
- To review, seek feedback from attendees and update sessions as necessary.
- To develop the layout and displays within the education centre to ensure they are user-friendly and interesting.
- To travel to and take mobile displays to other locations to give talks as required.
- To design, organise undertake Public Relations events.
Applicant Requirements:
- Certificate of education or similar qualification in teaching such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- A general interest in the Environment and waste management.
- Driving licence.
- Desirable if you have previously held a teaching/lecturing role.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to use own initiative to engage and retain audience interest.
