Safety Case Engineer - exciting opportunity to join this major Defence player where you will support the production and maintenance of the Facility Safety Case. To produce and maintain outputs of the Safety Case, e.g. the Operating Envelope, as required. To provide advice and support as required on all Safety Case matters.To support the safety case requirements of Assembly Projects.
The role will be based in Berkshire and is commutable from Newbury, Reading, Camberley and Basingstoke.
Responsibilities
To operate within the company standards relating to Security, Quality, Environment, Safety and Health.
To comply with the Nuclear Site License and all other statutory requirements. To provide information to support Toolbox Briefings, Licensed Site Assurance Meetings, the Case for Continued Operations, etc.
To provide support in maintaining pro-active regulatory interface with all internal and external regulators. To provide Emergency Response duties as required by local and company wide Emergency Arrangements.
Experience Required: Experience of Safety Case production. Experience and expertise in Risk Assessment techniques, including HAZOP and PRA. Experience of modern safety management systems and practices, Nuclear Site Licensing experience would be an advantage. Experience of Safety Management Systems. Experience of Quality Assurance Systems. Principles of best practice in Safety management/assessment. Familiarity with safety case production is preferable. Familiarity with Emergency Response requirements for a nuclear site is preferable. Familiarity with criticality issues is preferable.
Qualifications: Science Degree or equivalent. Qualifications in Safety case production / Safety assessment techniques would be preferred.
Skills: Effective report writing. Basic computer literacy in the Microsoft Office suite of programmes. In depth understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes is preferred.
