Configuration Control Team Leader required by this leading defence organisation to lead and manage the Configuration Management function at Luton, who provide support to all the business areas and ensure that projects receive the guidance and support needed for all configuration management and data management activities. All applicants must be able to meet MOD Security Criteria and be eligible to live and work in the UK.
The role will be based in Bedfordshire and is commutable from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Stevenage and Hatfield.
The Configuration Control Team Leader will ideally possess the NDIA qualification as configuration and data manager. You will have a detailed understanding of Configuration Management processes and extensive experience of work package management methods. Also experience of managing people and budgets at department level.
For this role you will need knowledge of DEF STAN 05-57 and ANSI EIA 649. You will know how to interpret customer CM requirements, knowledge of Metaphase/Teamcenter and problem solving.
Key reponsibilities include:
Ensuring team size and capability mix is optimised for successful delivery of all work packages. Development and training of team members. Supervision of configuration team. Manage the planning, allocation and deployment of team members according to workload. Representing the site at the group configuration management forum for Strategic Aims, Initiatives and Goals. Trouble shooting problems and provide configuration technical guidance. Estimating, planning, task definition, cost and timescales.
You will also conduct regular performance reviews and to recruit and develop staff.
