Key accountabilities
• Accountable for engineering systems, ensuring safe, reliable, maintained and configured engineering plant and equipment providing an interface with projects and engineering design
Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience, Skills
• Broad Engineering background
• Principles of radiological and toxic hazards and protection
• Change and configuration control
• UK Health and Safety legislation
• Company finance process and commercial contract awareness
• Safety Cases – key hazards, outputs and awareness; such as safety mechanisms and legislative systems
• HNC or Degree in an engineering discipline
• Member of a Professional Institute desirable
• Good team working experience
• Problem solving and delivering workable solutions
• Report writing
• Computer software user
• Significant experience of, or working with, a broad range of plant, equipment and engineering systems
• Flexible and manage a multiplicity of tasks in parallel
• Effective communications, both written and oral at all levels
• Resource and People Management
• Sound and reliable judgement
• Critical assessment of documentation
• Conflict resolution
• Computer literate
Special Requirements
• To become a Facility Emergency Controller
• A willingness to undertake Monitored/Classified Radiation and Beryllium Worker status
