An exciting opportunity is available for an Estimator based in Hillend, Fife for this large defence company.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the sourcing, selecting and negotiating with suppliers and working with the procurement and commercial teams on bid and project requirements.
Responsibilities include:
• Requests for Information (RFI) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) to support nominated work packages for the Business Winning Team.
• To ensure the material requirements in support of specific Bids are delivered to time, quality and cost, and to ensure the development of pricing plans in line with customer requirements.
• To provide robust estimates for identified bids utilising the Bill of Materials and T6 reports for utilisation by the commercial and procurement teams.
Desirable Skills:
• Professional Engineering or Procurement Qualification
• Working towards CIPS or another Professional institute
• Sourcing and costing materials including electronic components
• Experience in compiling reports and data analysis determined from RFQ's
• Supporting project management, it's impact on business parameters
• Experience of SAP System
• Negotiating price skills
• Ability to understand data packs & ensure accurate definition of req's to supply
• Good knowledge of commercial & technical specifications, relating to PEC component
