Deployed Military Planning Manager (Communications & Network support) required for this leading successful Defence prime contractor based in Berkshire working on the DII programme, managing a team of 3 planners who deliver the DII Deployed IT Service. This is a Brand new role, acting as the Technical Authority with the MoD in deployed systems management, you will be responsible for managing the flow down of requirements to actual technical solutions. We are looking for someone with a broad background including IT networked systems, Military deployed operations & processes, Planning (inc Operational planning), logistics and able to build & manage a team.
Educated to Degree level/HND in the area of IT or an electronics related discipline (experienced military network communications engineers without a degree will also be considered). Previous experience of DEF STAN 00-60/ILS as applied to Defence support contracts. Experience of delivering IT or software-based systems in a UK MoD deployed-on-land environment ideally experience of the Military J3/J6 planning environment. Thorough working knowledge of modern IT working practices. Ability to lead a team & manage. Knowledge of DII Programme. Ideally ITIL Accreditation and experience in a Service Management environment would be desirable.
Responsibilities include - Develop processes & procedures during delivery of the Level 3 Deployed Planning Service. Provide technical advice at Military planning meetings. Conduct the iterative process of distilling the real operational requirements. Maintain historical database of deployment laydown configurations. Generate draft change requests for DII(F) Deployed Services. Plan potential configurations, including drafting generic DOSP Documentation. Develop Support options for specific deployments. Support the development of Operational Information Plans. Assist ATLAS Service Management to Plan for End to End Service delivery and in planning Commercialisation of deployed sites. Plan redeployment within theatres. Suggest options to meet the needs of UORs, Manage Refurbishment and Recovery of equipment received back from theatre (whether unserviceable or returned at the end of an operational commitment). Assist with management of training to personnel about to deploy (perhaps as reinforcements, relief or roulement) specifically in relation to the DII(F)D solution fielded. Act as liaison between the ATLAS Deployed Service Support Group (DSSG) Engineers based out of the ATLAS Supply Support Centre (ASSC) and the Military Service Providers (MSP) and ATLAS Deployed Service Management Team (DSMT) staff.
Flexible working habits, with the ability to travel within Europe. UK driving licence. Holds a DV clearance (or holds an SC clearance and is willing to submit to the DV process).
