My Client, a Central Government Organisation, is looking for a Data Centre Team Member.
You would have to have:
• A good skill level in Windows Exchange 2003 is essential, Windows 2000 Professional, Server and Advanced Server, Active Directory, Windows NT4 Workstation & Server, Compaq/HP Hardware is required. Windows XP and Office 2003 skills would also be useful.
• Knowledge of networking components based on Ethernet would be useful.
• To have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and of different nationalities is required.
• To work closely with the change advisory board (CAB) to manage change / release management.
Experience of ITIL and working in government Data centres is desirable.
you will be responsible for:
• To provide supervision of the changes made to WIM, 2G and 3G infrastructure in the Data Centre. Ensuring the changes are approved and made according to the ITIL procedures.
• To control / manage access to the Data Centres for CTE, 2G, 3G and the pre production environment.
• System Administration of the iD patch recording database which includes carrying out daily health checks, daily backups and liasing with the software / hardware suppliers about licence, software updates and support contracts.
• General tidiness of the Data Centre. Cabinet’s doors are kept shut, correct length of patch cables used and items are unpacked before being brought into the area.
• Daily checks of the Data Centre to include checks of the area and the air conditioning equipment.
• To be responsible for disaster recovery (DR) contingencies.
Ideally you would be SC cleared or be willing to undergo clearance.
