A Quantity Surveyor /Estimator is required on a permanent basis to work for one for the UK's leading support services and construction companies in Birmingham. Applicants must have a PQS background.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Area Commercial Manager in monitoring and developing cost models for managing all works, staff and overheads.
- Assisting in risk analysis of contract conditions, costs, sub-contracts and commercial implications of any changes agreed with the customer.
- Providing advice and guidance to Area Commercial Manager in the preparation and presentation of works proposals, reviews and updates.
- Assisting in development and implementation of commercial risk management procedures.
- Assisting the Area Commercial Manager in preparing dispute avoidance strategy and any dispute resolution.
- Maintaining and developing systems for the timely reporting of KPIs and financial indicators to highlight possible abatements.
- Providing administrative support to Area Commercial Manage.
Applicants must have commercial experience in construction, property maintenance or related fields including developing cost models, risk analysis and management, preparation of work proposals and tenders and dispute resolution.
Excellent working knowledge of commercial processes and experience working within strict ISO 9000 policies and procedures is essential.
The successful candidate will also have HND /Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or equivalent. Mod experience and professional QS qualifications are desirable.
