AMEC works on a global scale, delivering engineering projects from initial planning all the way through to completion and on-going asset life support.
For example, AMEC, through the consortium Nuclear Management Partners, comprising URS Washington Division, AMEC and AREVA manages and operates the Sellafield Sites on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
In Lithuania, AMEC is the project manager for the Ignalina reactor decommissioning site, one of the largest decommissioning programmes in Europe. In South Africa, we delivered a research project to the Nuclear Installation Inspectorate (NII) that developed practical guidelines for UK licensees on managing human factors in the de-fuelling and decommissioning phases of nuclear power stations.
