Job Title Commercial Analyst
I am currently looking for a Commercial Analyst to join my clients Contracts and Procurement team on a 6 month contract basis.
The Contracts and Procurement department covers the ,Provision of business / commercial analysis expertise across a diverse range of commercial strategy, business planning and contracting activities. A key element of the role will be to provide rigorous business and financial analysis to underpin all commercial decisions.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
· Exceptional and proven analytical experience in a commercial environment
· Degree trained or equivalent business experience
· Consistent and demonstrational levels of drive, tenacity and mental energy
· Outstanding relationship and communication skills
· Proven track record of working off own initiative
· Previous documented experience of contributing to the development and implementation of change initiatives
· Advanced level of Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel, & PowerPoint
Desirable
· Rail Industry exposure
· Experience of working in a large national/multinational business group (>£0.5bn)
· Previous role in the proactive participation in strategic and business development
· Large utility and/or engineering experience
· Facilitation and presentation skills
· Microsoft Project
· Financial Management or Accountancy Qualification
Specific Responsibilities
· The role is envisaged to be a six month assignment and initially the work will be focused upon a short project to build a portfolio profile for the sourcing needs of the Engineering function.
· Support project definition
· Produce and maintain project plan
· Identify the sourcing requirements from analysis of existing contracts, purchase order review, project plans, investment papers and consultation with stakeholders
· Build a model and plan of work of all sourcing requirements by type of event, criticality, complexity etc
· Support analysis and determination of resources required to deliver the plan of work
· Additional activities include:
· Supporting the development of category strategies with Sourcing Direct team
· Analysis of category spend
· Cleansing of historic data
· Market / Industry analysis
· Supplier analysis
