Summary of the role

Development of application media for the knowledge management of company configuration records.

Key accountabilities


  • A working understanding of relevant British and European Standards and legislative requirements
  • Compliance of drawings with company standards
  • Maintenance of site drawing standards database
  • Provision of internal drawing capabilities to all facilities and projects
  • Development of an integrated configuration team, looking at application and storage of configuration data


Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience, Skills

  • Knowledge of drawing systems and procedures including:
    Record drawing and archive retrieval systems.
    Co-ordination of contract drawing services.
    A working understanding of relevant British and European Standards and legislative requirements.
    Knowledge of estimating for drawing office and related tasks.
    Acquisition of knowledge of ‘best practice’ in drawing through links with industry and associations and the dissemination of this knowledge to staff.
    Knowledge of other documentation systems e.g. Livelink, GIS, Documentum, Meridean.
  • HNC or HND/Degree in an Engineering discipline or a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Or suitable experience
  • Experience of process plant design and operation, including configuration control and maintenance
  • Experience of managing a multi discipline technical resources
  • An understanding of AUTOCAD and associated software packages
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate options and formulate solutions taking into account safety, cost benefit, and quality
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • A competent level of computer literacy
  • Interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively, team build and development of staff
