Our client is a world leader in military air platforms and associated systems trials and evaluations working closely with the MOD and other defence organisations. They are based in the Salisbury area and have a requirement for an Aircraft EMC Engineer, Electrical and Electromagnetic Compatibility.
The Aircraft EMC Engineer, Electrical and Electromagnetic Compatibility will have the following accountabilities –
EMC of aircraft electrical, electronic and armament systems with respect to the aircraft
Radio Frequency (RF) environment and the external RF environment.
Electrical integrity of electrical power generation, control and distribution systems to ensure that the requirements of aircraft design standards have been met.
Armament electrical safety of armament control systems and systems incorporating electro explosives devices to ensure that the requirements of aircraft design standards have been met.
Principle activities in the conduct of an evaluation are to capture the customer's E&EMC requirements, provide E&EMC input to bids to meet these requirements, establish the evaluation strategy, define instrumentation and test facility requirements; aircraft build standards and role equipment configuration requirements
Also to prepare a trials instruction (TI) and trials risk assessment (TRA), test briefs, direct the evaluation in accordance with the project management plan; analyse and interpret data and derive conclusions and Release to Service recommendations, to be written in a technical/customer report
The successful Aircraft EMC Engineer, Electrical and Electromagnetic Compatibility will be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) with respect to either Electrical/Electronic Engineering or EMC or alternatively HND and HNC (or equivalent) qualified with additional professional experience.
