We are now seeking the right individuals to join our growing aerospace team in Bristol. The position of Aerospace Senior Design Engineer is ideally suited to individuals with at significant and appropriate engineering design experience in the design of aircraft primary structures. You will be expected to take full ownership of design packages, and to lead others in their execution. You will also be expected to proactively contribute to the further development of our aerostructures design capability. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate a desire to be challenged and to contribute towards the success and growth of the business. Mandatory Requirements of the role
You will be Degree qualified in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or possess suitable experience in lieu of degree), with significant and appropriate experience in the design of aircraft primary structures. You will have experience in one or more of the following: - Leadership of design teams
- Conceptual design responsibility
- Metallics and composites design
- Production of design data-sets
- Quality assurance of design deliverables
- Design integration
- Design for manufacture
- Technical management of 2nd tier design suppliers
You will be expected to demonstrate the following attributes: - Professional in approach and performance
- Strong communication Skills
- Commercial awareness
- Team worker with the ability to effectively manage themselves and colleagues when appropriate.
- The flexability and desire to contribute to non aero-structures related design challenges.
Ideally you will: - Hold, or have held, delegated signatory status.
- Trained and experienced in the use of CATIA V4/5.
- Pursuing Chartership through IMechE or RAeS
Additional Information
- Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary. Travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to client’s offices may also be required.
