THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity now exists for a high-calibre individual with energy and passion, possibly with a military background, to work for a market leader providing hardware support services within the automation and IT industry, to drive and motivate their teams to the successful accomplishment of agreed targets and goals.
The Repair Workshop Manager will be responsible for the Management of all the Repair Workshops, with the objectives being to motivate and drive the teams to the successful accomplishment of agreed targets and goals. These targets shall be measured by the following Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): on time delivery, individual and team efficiencies, quality, productivity, costs, waste and general housekeeping standards.
The Repair Workshop Manager is expected to operate within a framework of procedures and specific targets in pursuit of overall Company goals and objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that all agreed key performance targets are met and that time is of the essence for on time in full delivery, individual and team efficiencies, productivity, costs and waste.
Mentoring and supervising all of the workshop Team Leaders in motivating, encouraging and directing them in the running of their Teams.
Devising and implement through change, improvements in productivity, capability and reduced material costs.
Authorising of departmental spend within guidelines specified by the Operations Manager.
Produce, distribute and maintain all production workshop procedural documentation.
Promote a continuous improvement policy, which enables all staff to contribute ideas.
Communicate improvement initiatives to management and assist in their implementation where required.
Ensure that training policies covering multi-skilling and cross training are implemented.
Participate in the induction of new recruits to the Company including training where necessary
Undertake staff appraisals in line with company policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Repair Workshop Manager must have a recognised qualification in electronic or electro-mechanical servicing to at least C&G level III.
The Repair Workshop Manager must have had at least 3 years electronic/electro-mechanical production or electronic repair experience as a technician or engineer grade.
The Repair Workshop Manager will possess recognised qualifications in Supervision and/or Supervisory skills or via training workshops
KEY PERSONAL SKILLS
Have a proven track record in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or service workshop environment.
Ability to deal with personnel issues around disciplinary matters.
Must be able to work under own initiative to solve problems.
